Skincare Trends for the New Year

As we head into 2026, skincare is becoming smarter and more personalized, and focusing on the quality of skin care and treatments is a major skincare trend for this year. As an aesthetic nurse practitioner, I’m seeing patients turn towards results that are natural and more importantly, sustainable. Here is a rundown of the top three skincare trends I'm predicting for 2026.

Skincare Trend 1: Regenerative Treatments

Treatments such as microneedling, MOXI, and BBL continue to grow in popularity. These types of procedures encourage your own collagen production and are becoming preferred over fillers and ablative procedures. It is never too early or too late to begin preventative or corrective treatment of your skin. Our goal is to keep your skin functioning at its best as you age.

Skincare Trend 2: Skin Longevity

One of the biggest trends currently is skin longevity. Patients are less focused on quick fixes and more interested in protecting collagen and strengthening the skin barrier by creating a treatment plan and skin care routine that is tailored to them. Often times in office procedures are recommended every six months. This is a great way to keep your skin functioning and glowimg at it’s best all year long.

Skincare Trend 3: Medical Grade Skin Care

Lastly, and probably most importantly is the use of medical grade skin care.  Over-exfoliating and 10-step routines are out; gentle actives, microbiome-friendly products, and consistency are in. Healthy skin doesn’t need to be complicated, it needs to be supported. This means consistent use of medical-grade skincare, daily SPF (the gold standard), and in-office treatments that stimulate the skin rather than overwhelm it.

The best aesthetic results come from partnership: a knowledgeable provider, evidence-based treatments, and patients who are invested in their skin for the long run.
