What is Secret RF?
Secret RF is a customizable nonsurgical safe and effective solution to rebuilding and revitalizing skin. All skin types can be treated. It improves signs of aging, wrinkles, fine lines, scarring and it tightens skin with little to no down time.
How does it work?
This new fractional radio frequency device has the capabilities to deliver heat to the deeper layers of the skin using controlled RF energy. This is what makes it superior over standard microneedling devices that can only treat the surface of the skin. With Secret RF, the energy delivered remodels and promotes the production of collagen which improves wrinkles, diminishes the appearance of scarring and tightens skin. How many treatment sessions before I see improvement?
The number of treatments needed really depends on your treatment goals/needs. The typical patient needs 3-4 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. For deeper wrinkles and scarring more treatments may be needed however this varies per patient. Most patients see improvements after the 2nd treatment with optimal results revealed about 3 months after their last treatment. After the first treatment most patients notice smoother, brighter, softer skin at their 4-6 week follow up. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 12-18 months after your initial treatment series.
What’s expected during and after treatment?
Treatment is fairly quick, usually lasting about 20 min. You should arrive about 30 min prior to your appointment time and a numbing cream will be applied to the area being treated. During the treatment you will feel some heat and pressure at the treatment site, this is very tolerable for most patients and your provider will work with you to maximize your comfort level. After the treatment is completed a topical serum will be applied and you should refrain from wearing makeup for several hours. You may experience minor redness and/or swelling from the treatment. This should subside 12-24 hrs after treatment. There is no down time and you can resume all of your normal activities.
Are there any side effects?
Microneedling with Secret RF is very well tolerated with minimal risk. Common side effects include redness, swelling, bruising and dry skin all of which resolve within a week.
After your Secret RF treatment, we advise that you wait at least 4 hours before washing your face or applying any soaps, cream or makeup to treatment area. Avoid sun exposure and use broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen to prevent further sun damage. Avoid applying skin irritants and we encourage you to use mild cleansers and moisturizers for the first few days after treatment.
